The people of Deep Roots Market (DRM) enjoy local art and music, and we want to provide opportunities for local artists to have space to share with the co-op community free of charge. We also enjoy helping local non-profits with aligned missions to spread information and even raise funds. However, like any relationship, we must have solid, healthy boundaries.

Here are a few simple and fair expectations and rules for this to happen equitably and consistently:

• Do not speak of the co-op in a negative manner. This will get back to us and we will no longer allow you to use the free space. If you have a negative experience or a concern, please bring it to management as soon as possible.

• No outside food or beverages. Please purchase any refreshments you might need from DRM for the duration of your visit. Homemade foods in personal containers are acceptable. Do not ask for free food, do not sample excessively, and do not ask staff to purchase items for you at a discount. Bring your own cup or water bottle and act as if you are an ambassador of DRM.

• No selling or promoting products or services that compete with products we sell in the store or compromise our Mission, Cooperative Principles & Values, or Food Commitment. If you wish to sell through the store, please see the appropriate manager to find out how. If you are unsure, please ask management beforehand.

• Let people walk past you without calling for their attention. Some of our shoppers are in a hurry or are just not interested. Please respect that and let them pass without interference. Interested people will come to your table.

• The expectation is that you provide all of your own supplies. We are happy to let you borrow ours for a small fee. Tables are $5 per day and tents are $10 per day. These items are available on a first come first serve basis and will not always be available. You may have to wait until a staff member becomes available to get what you need as the store’s needs come first. Bags, cups, containers, etc. cost the co-op money and are not free to take. You must pay for these items.

• Pay attention to our store hours. If you are renting anything, it must be returned at least 10 minutes before closing time.

• No vending or fundraising inside the store (not even in the vestibule). We have lovely space outside that you are welcome to share with others. With good planning, we are happy to share your marketing information via social media and through our E-newsletter. This would need to happen at least 2 weeks in advance and is at our discretion.

• After you unload, please move your vehicle to the back row of the parking lot.

• Keep it family appropriate. Any music, art, or language used needs to be kid friendly.

• If you ever hear anything concerning from a customer, please let a manager know asap. We want to be the best co-op we can be and with your help, we get closer to that goal!

• If you have friends or family joining you, please ensure they know about these expectations as well.

• By signing, the vendor agrees and understands that DRM is not responsible for theft, injury, or any other potential liabilities while on DRM property.
