As a community-owned cooperative whose mission includes educating our owners and friends about natural foods and the cooperative difference, Deep Roots is a frequent participant in outreach-oriented events throughout Greensboro and the surrounding area.
Some of these events occur off-site at various health fairs sponsored by companies and like-minded organizations around the city, at street festivals and expos, and on school and college campuses. Many others take place in the store itself. These include everything from free tastings several times a month of favorite foods selected by us, or provided by visiting representatives from our vendors; guest lectures featured at our regularly scheduled Mind & Body Matters Talks; and our large annual outdoor extravaganza, Taste Fair (now in its 13th year).

UNCG SUSTAINABILITY FILM FILM SERIES -- THURSDAYS, ONGOING
"SUSTAINABLE SHORTS" -- THURS. MARCH 25, 6:30 pm -- Weatherspoon Art Museum, UNCG campus -- Presented by the UNCG Sustainability Committee and the Weatherspoon Art Museum, sponsored in part by Deep Roots Market -- A presentation of the winners in the Sustainability Shorts Film Competition. Films were judged on criteria including concept, writing, acting, cinematography, production quality and costuming. Come out and support these young area filmmakers who are dedicated to documenting sustainabilty in our community and making a difference. Films are FREE, but seating is limited. Come at 6:30 pm for an info exchange with local merchants, community action groups and individuals dedicated to sustainable practices. The Herbal Thyme Guild Meetings -- 4th Tuesday of each month @ Guilford County Agricultural Extension, 3309 Burlington Road, Greensboro. Join other herb enthusiasts to share herbal crafts, recipes, growing tips and herbal knowledge. Presenting guest speakers on a variety of herbal-related topics. Call (336) 685-9135 for more info.
